New Scripture Readers

At the start of July, we held our Selection and Recruitment week. Four individuals were put through their paces as they had various interviews and completed numerous exercises under observation.

Through these events, we sought to gauge their character and how they fared in situations that our Scripture Readers find themselves in each day. The events were very successful and subject to security checks and clearances, all four candidates have been accepted as Scripture Readers, with an anticipated start date of 7th September.

Jacinta Lyons and Scott Witherick will undergo a theological training course before deployment next year. Mike Blackstock will be placed at Aldershot Garrison (working alongside ASR Jim Henderson), while Josh Fortune will be a part-time Scripture Reader, working one day a week based in London.

Thank you for your prayers for this event and the individuals involved, and thank the Lord for his gracious provision.
