COVID-19 Bulletin 1

Our nation is taking measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus. For most people this is a frightening experience: we are forced to contemplate our mortality, and face daily challenges in maintaining a degree of normality. Many remain concerned for those who are more vulnerable for a range of health and other reasons. In this time of need the nation is again turning to the members of the Armed Services to help protect and provide for those who need practical help the most.

We pray for wisdom for our political leaders, and strength and sill for those involved in health care. While many self-isolate at home, others are working hard to maintain essential services. All these labours are vital for us all. The most important thing, however, remains the proclamation of the gospel. We all need our daily bread for now, but in the long term the vital need is the forgiveness of our sins, wondrously and gloriously achieved through the life, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Please pray for our Scripture Readers as they bring the good news of the gospel to our military personnel, and work to support them as they are deployed in support of the civil powers. The need for gospel proclamation is as great now as ever.

While churches are unable to meet our Area Representatives cannot provide deputations in person. We are working to provide video materials which may be used when services are streamed, or links to provide church members interested to hear about our work. If there are any further resources or support that we can provide please get in touch. Your support for out work continues to be vital—it would be a great sadness if we had to stop this gospel work because we couldn’t pay our staff.

Thank you so much for your support and encouragement.

I lift my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come?
My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.
The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life.
The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.
