The Soldiers' & Airmen's Scripture Readers Association

Why Give?

Thanks to our good relationships with Chaplaincy and the chain of command, the military are requesting more Scripture Readers!

Please donate to enable more serving personnel to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

SASRA receives no income from the Government, but since 1838 our gospel work has been supported by the giving of Christians.

Prayer is the most important support that you can give to the work, but without money we would not be able to pay our staff and provide them with the means to live and work. (“The labourer deserves his wages.” 1 Tim 5:18 (ESV))

There are several different ways in which you can support us financially, and we are very grateful for all those who give to enable the work. It is particularly helpful if you give regularly, perhaps by Standing Order, as this allows us to calibrate our expenditure.

The value of our earthly investments may go up or down, and however large or small we cannot take them with us when we die. Jesus urges us:

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matt 6:19-21 (ESV)
