Why Pray?

The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working

Prayer is central to the work of SASRA—a gift from God, which enables us to enjoy communion with Him.

We pray to make the most of this great privilege, which allows us to come to the Lord of the universe with our requests, anytime and anywhere. What is more, God commands his people to ‘…be constant in prayer’.

Seeking to do God’s will, we strive to obey Him.

We are to pray for ourselves, our friends and families, our churches, our world and for mission.

The Mission of SASRA

Our mission is to share the good news of Jesus with members of HM forces and their families, that they might follow Him.

Ultimately, this mission is the Lord’s work. In the words of Solomon, “Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labour in vain.” Psalm  127:1 (ESV)

The mission of SASRA needs prayer. We can show people Christ, but the seed that we sow needs much nurturing.

Who to pray for

Sharing the gospel in garrisons across the United Kingdom is made possible through our workers, who need your prayers:

Additionally, there is a need to pray for the serving personnel themselves:

Prayer is the engine of SASRA. It is a great blessing that we can ask God for His divine help with our work and a great joy that He acts when we do. We would greatly appreciate your prayers for the Association. For more information on praying for us, please follow the links below.
