New Ministry Director

Following the departure of Revd Tim Wright at the end of March, we are pleased to announce that Revd Philip Parker will be joining us in September as the new Ministry Director.

Philip is married with two children and is currently in full-time church ministry in Oxfordshire, having previously served as a Reserve Army Chaplain with 10 PARA and 21 SAS.

We remain very grateful for the work Tim did, particularly in stepping up to lead the Association as Interim Executive Director between November and March.

Over the last year I have been privileged to work alongside you in this important ministry. I have counted it a joy and have learnt an incredible amount.

I have rarely seen a group of people so dedicated to achieving the aims of an Association with such grace and good will.

Revd Tim Wright

Please pray for Tim as he explores new opportunities and for Philip ahead of him starting in September.

The Cut-Off

Long-standing SASRA supporter Barbara was inspired to have a sponsored hair cut-off. Her church is close to Colchester Garrison and they pray regularly for ASR Gavin Dickson, the local Scripture Reader.

‘Standby, GO!’

It had been a while since I heard those words shouted out on a cold Catterick morning (over nineteen years to be precise), and I inwardly shuddered as a large crowd of people started jostling over the start line of the 2024 PARAS’10 event.
