For more details, please email zoom@sasra.org.uk or call HQ on 03000 301 302.

As the UK and Commonwealth look forward to the Coronation, the military is working hard behind the scenes in preparation. Once again, the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, based in Hyde Park Barracks, is playing a key role, with the whole unit putting in many hours of rehearsals and hard work.

Dubbed the trusted guardians of the Monarch, the Household Cavalry is divided into two Regiments: the Household Cavalry Regiment and the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment. The Mounted Regiment is tasked primarily with ceremonial duties and represents the Monarch and nation in conducting mounted state and public duties in London, across the UK and around the rest of the world on key international events.

Last year, the Mounted Regiment had an exceptionally busy ceremonial season, with the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations and the State Funeral. This year, many months of planning and hard work will go into the Coronation and the annual Trooping the Colour in June.
