Running the Race, Raising Funds & Giving out Gospels

Gavin Dickson completing the PARAS'10 in 2023.

Scripture Reader Gavin Dickson completed the PARAS’10 in Catterick to raise funds for SASRA.

Dubbed ‘the ultimate 10-mile endurance race’, PARAS’10 is based on the 10-mile march from Parachute Regiment’s ‘P Company Test Week’, which assesses recruits at the end of their training.

Gavin raised over £1,000, gave out over forty copies of John’s Gospel and spoke to individuals about Christ.

Gavin is based at Colchester Garrison, the home of 16 Air Assault Brigade. He completed the course in boots and carried a 35lb (15.9kg) bergen (military backpack). During the event, he was also able to give out over forty copies of John’s Gospel and had conversations with different individuals about Christ, including five soldiers who are based in Colchester.

Gavin has raised over £1,000 so far. Thank you to everyone who has donated, there is still time to donate.
