Scripture Reader Gavin Dickson completed the PARAS’10 in Catterick to raise funds for SASRA.
Dubbed ‘the ultimate 10-mile endurance race’, PARAS’10 is based on the 10-mile march from Parachute Regiment’s ‘P Company Test Week’, which assesses recruits at the end of their training.
Gavin raised over £1,000, gave out over forty copies of John’s Gospel and spoke to individuals about Christ.
Gavin is based at Colchester Garrison, the home of 16 Air Assault Brigade. He completed the course in boots and carried a 35lb (15.9kg) bergen (military backpack). During the event, he was also able to give out over forty copies of John’s Gospel and had conversations with different individuals about Christ, including five soldiers who are based in Colchester.
Gavin has raised over £1,000 so far. Thank you to everyone who has donated, there is still time to donate.
Pray with us
- Give thanks to God for sustaining Gavin over the PARAS’10 and for keeping him safe from any injuries.
- Praise God that Gavin could have conversations with different individuals about Christ and that he was able to give out copies of John’s Gospel.
- Pray for Gavin's relationship with 16 Air Assault, that there might be more opportunities to draw alongside them and point them to Christ.
