Tour of Scotland

Andrew McMahon with Laiyee and David Jamieson

Regional Manager North Andrew McMahon tours Scotland

In early April, I was able to visit Thurso Free Church of Scotland, my most northern SASRA deputation, as yet.

With any journey for SASRA, I seek to make the best use of time and to capture opportunities for church engagement, supporting activities and fellowship.  During the three days of travel, I was able to meet with Scripture Reader Paul Curd in Edinburgh and also ASR David Jamieson and his wife Laiyee, as they were settling into Inverness.  In addition, venues for future events in Inverness were visited, before taking the train through the striking Scottish Highlands to Thurso.

I was greeted by Rev Jerry Taylor before dinner and a warm welcome to Thurso Free Church, where I was able to share of our recent encouragements in the ministry to the Armed Forces.  I was well hosted with an overnight stay by John and Barbara Hymers before returning to Inverness and driving to Catterick Garrison.

It is my joy to visit churches and share of our work in declaring the gospel; the congregation in their local community, and SASRA with the young men and women of the military community.  Even more so, in such beautiful surroundings as the Scotland Highlands and coast.
