Lee McDade has returned as a part-time Scripture Reader in Colchester.

After nearly three years pastoring a church, Lee has returned as a part-time Scripture Reader. This month, he has started his posting to Wattisham Flying Station in Suffolk, home to the Army Air Corps’ Apache helicopters.

He finds his return to SASRA similar to the Armed Forces exchange programme, ‘Operation Long Look’. Personnel are seconded to the Armed Forces of other countries to learn military culture, operational practices and geopolitics.

I think of my time in ‘civvie street’ as job shadowing experience. I was on detachment but never lost my love for the military and talking about Jesus. It’s great to be back.

ASR Lee McDade

We are delighted to welcome Lee back to the ministry. As he returns from detachment, join us in praying for him as he builds relationships and re-settles as a Scripture Reader.
