By Andrew McMahon, Regional Manager North
And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’ (Matthew 28:18-20)
ASR David Jamieson is to serve as Scripture Reader for Fort George and Kinloss, and he and his wife Laiyee were commissioned for the work by their home congregation, Lambhill Evangelical Church on 12 January.
Lambhill Evangelical is part of 20schemes, who seek for Scotland’s housing schemes to be transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ. With a heart for evangelism at the core of the church, David and Laiyee’s calling to Inverness was appreciated by all, although the loss to the congregation is keenly felt.
The service was led by their minister Tommy Millar, who spoke on the Great Commission (Matthew 28), and prayed over them for their blessing and keeping. David and Laiyee shared their joys and concerns with the church and sang a song of trust in their Saviour before the congregation.
ASR Paul Curd, his wife Karen and Regional Manager Andrew McMahon were present and enjoyed fellowship with the church. David and Laiyee’s friends from nearby churches attended and one supporter from Holyrood Evangelical, Miss Moira Sinclair, visited to see Scotland’s latest Scripture Reader commissioned.
The church provided a splendid lunch and great fellowship; a joyous occasion, when missionaries were sent out to make their Saviour known.

Pray with us

- Praise God for the support Scripture Readers receive from local churches.
- Pray that David and Laiyee would be encouraged by the support of their church as they begin their ministry with SASRA.
- Pray that as David and Laiyee move to their posting that the Lord would go before them and prepare hearts for the gospel.
