We now have three full-time Scripture Readers in the Royal Air Force.

SASRA has ministered to the serving personnel of the Royal Air Force since its inception in 1918, and we look forward to continuing this vital gospel work in 2025 and beyond.

We now have three full-time Scripture Readers in the Royal Air Force: Steve Curley at RAF Brize Norton, Steven Dougherty at RAF Northolt and Peter Woodward, who has recently started at RAF Benson. Peter is studying at Bible college, shadowing ASR Steven Dougherty for on-the-job training, and visiting RAF Benson one day a week.

Peter shares how the work has taken off:

I have been able to converse with serving personnel about SASRA and why I’m there as the Scripture Reader. I have been able to run a Hope Explored course at the station church in the run up to Christmas. While numbers fluctuated, those who attended the course were very engaged and we had lots of productive conversations, praise God. I plan to run the course again the new year so please pray towards this.
