New Scripture Reader starts training

We are pleased to announce that Patrick Steen has been accepted as a Scripture Reader. Patrick served in the British Army for twelve years, starting with the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, before transferring to The Queen’s Royal Hussars. Throughout his service, Patrick spent time with multiple Scripture Readers, including ASRs Lee Philipson, Gavin Dickson, Dave Hossack and Tiaan de Klerk, as well as former ASRs Ray Hendricks and William Wade. SASRA had always been a part of Patrick’s life and many individuals had mentioned the idea of him becoming a Scripture Reader.

God has opened the door to serve those who serve. It’s exciting, the possibility that God can use me in a great work within the Armed Forces and continue that faithful work in SASRA to carry forth His Word.

Patrick has started his Phase 1 training, which includes on-the-job training and a one-year theological course at Moorlands Bible College.
