Quiz Night Success

The quiz night in full swing.

By Alastair McCord, SASRA Advocate

On 22 May we ran a Family Quiz Night at Muckamore Presbyterian Church, Antrim. This provided an opportunity for ASR Paul Somerville to update us with what is happening in SASRA, and we were able to show the SASRA VE Day video.

We were well supported by our church family, and we had six teams competing for an array of prizes. There was a good deal of laughter as participants joked and chatted with one another and although not all answers were correct some were very humorous! Well done to the winning team ‘Teamy McTeamface’ who led from round one.

Halfway through the evening we were served an excellent supper provided by our team of helpers. Our appreciation goes to everyone who helped so willingly to make the night a success by helping in many different ways. Paul’s support for the event was very much appreciated. Thanks to the Kirk Session who gave permission to use the church hall and also for the encouragement they give to Paul and myself as they support other SASRA initiatives.

It was a lively evening and the craic was enjoyed by all. However, the real winners are SASRA as we raised £365. Special thanks to my wife Liz as she had to live the quiz for a lot longer than the three hours on the night!
