Every year during the first week of January, my church organises a ‘Week of Prayer’. There are prayer meetings every evening Monday to Friday and anyone who is able, gathers in the building and over the course of the week, we pray through the needs of the church, the needs of the area and of the world.

Sadly, suicide remains the number one killer of young men in UK, and from analysis of the same ONS data we see spikes on New Years Day, then into January and the first quarter of the year.

Shortly before Shrove Tuesday I met with a group of Christians serving at RAF Benson. They were looking to put on an event which would invite people into the church on station for free pancakes and allow us to share with them the meaning of the day.
ASR David Jamieson is to serve as a Scripture Reader at Fort George and Kinloss, and he and his wife Laiyee were commissioned for the work by their home congregation, Lambhill Evangelical Church on 12 January.
